Look at that kid eh! Chase is doing great, gasiness and spitting up aside. At his first doctor appointment this last week, he weighed in at 7 lbs 1 oz. He's already over his birth weight! Elle and Emma didn't do that for a couple of months. He is healthy and happy.

He is starting to spend more and more time wide-eyed awake during the day. It is so funny to watch him looking around trying to figure out what it is he is seeing. He has a strong neck and back already, trying to push himself around. Dangerous!

Having given Chase a lot of love, Lauren deserves the 'best mom ever' award. She is so loving and attentive, while seemingly always knowing what Chase is thinking. I would have pictures of Lauren here, but she has banned all pictures of her for a time.

We were up at moms this weekend to be with the family. Chase's future hero and role model, cousin Max (Scott& Page), had some time with him while there. Max is the best boy; nice, cute, hilarious and Chase's future RealSaltLake teammate (even though uncle Kade bought him a Man United jersey). This picture obviously foretells of deviousness to come between the two cousins.

The rest of the weekend was made even better by Jessica announcing, by means of a gift to mom, that she is pregnant. Awesome, Awesome.

Don't forget...this Thursday is the opening game at the new stadium for RealSaltLake! I will be there to scout the team for the wee-man. Check it out...http://real.saltlake.mlsnet.com/t121/.

Internationally; the most brilliant player in Europe, Cesc Fabregas, scored in the 90th minute over the weekend to save a result for Arsenal against Sunderland. Fab4 (his nickname) is shown here reminding Chase which team he will be representing in the years to come. Good on you Cesc! Good luck for Spain this week.

Bye for now!

After a week...we still like him!

Chase has now been home for a week. It is a rare moment when he isn't crowded by people and showered with affection. He seems to change and grow up everyday.

I'm not sure that he is quite back up to his birth weight yet, but he certainly looks healthy and happy. His head is a nice, non-ridicule-inspiring shape now. The oragotang fingers and toes have not 'evolved' just yet. In short, we love his little self!

It has been a busy week for Chase. He has soiled through 1.3 million diapers already, has had a couple of baths, dirtied 4 dozen outfits and 'participated' in a hand full of photo-shoots. When he isn't involved in making funny faces to inspire people to koo over him, he is trying to satisfy his unending need for milk. The problem is, for as much as he feeds and as small as he still is...either he already served a mission to Latin America in the 'Pre-Mortal Life' and food already goes right through him... or the store where he gets his milk is only selling skim (maybe 2%, max). I'm sure in no time he will be a stout Moulton Boy!

With the pleasentries out of the way, I need to respond to some issues that were brought to my attention (but failed to puncture my thick skin) this week;

First of all, as I have recounted from my heart the story of my young son, a precious spirit; yes, there are probably some mispellings, unfortunate sentence structure and 3rd-grade-worthy grammer. Just remember, I'm an architect...its hard to draw this lyrically-spun tail with limited reading skills! Just think about this-

When Rudy got squashed time after time by his neandrital teammates, did he not still strive to make Notre Dame proud?

Even though realestate executive, Gob Bluth, failed to live up to any standard of normal and disappointed his imprisoned father and slightly-more-intelligent brother Michael, did he not continue with his career as a magician?

And didn't a young George W. Bush, plagued with learning disabilities, still have a dream...and did he not find Dick Cheney to help make decisions so that he could look like a President?
In this same way, I will continue to try and spell english words and put them together into sentences!

Secondly, yes, my two amazing daughters Elle and Emma have stories too. I will tell what is going on in their lives tomorrow. O.K.? Yes, I love them too!

In closing, some interesting developments on Chase's footy career. There has been some response around the football world to the wee-man signing with Arsenal. FIFA 'World Footballer of the Year', Christiano Ronaldo, commented about their rival's signing. See picture.

What a wanker!

To add somemore news to his Wikipedia profile, Chase has been loaned out to local club RealSaltLake. The length of the loan was not disclosed, but according to a team official, it is assumed to be 16 years. Makes sence (Englishman Jack Wilshire, 16 years old, made his first start for the Gunners last week). We do know the details of the financial agreement between the two clubs however. Although RealSaltLake is a great team, they do play in a second rate league (MLS) with an amatuerish salary cap. So, RSL was able to aquire Chase's loan rights from Arsenal for 8 tickets to the Home Decorating and Remodeling Show at the South Towne Expo Center. Probably a good deal for both sides. Congratulations Chase! Comments from RSL coach and players next week.

A Legend is Born (maybe)

Well, the boy is here. Chase Aaron Moulton was born on Friday, 19 2008 at 12:28 pm. Although being 3 weeks early, he still weighed in at 6 lb 12 oz. He was 20" long, including orangatang toes!

The plan was for Lauren to be induced on Friday morning. The wee-man could not wait any longer, and Lauren's water broke on Thursday night. As a result, Lauren and I ended up at the hospital 8 hours early. Labor was in full gear by midnight; hard contractions, etc. By 2:00 am the contractions were proving to be less than fruitful. Thus, we were left to wait until the original morning check-in time to induce Lauren. At noon, labor kicked in for real. A hard fought 30 minutes later, the latest edition to our family was thrust forth!

You can see from the pictures here, he is really cute (in a miniture kind of way). He has brownish hair and brows. His chest and back hair are as yet undistiguished, but his belly-button already has a quality depth to it. He has awesome little feet and hands. As far as who he looks like; some say Lauren for sure, others say its a boy version of Emma, a few believe he is Moulton all the way. You can decide for yourself. But, I challenge you not to look at him with his skrunchy little face and see Vizzini from The Princess Bride...inconceivable! No, really, look at him!

It is Monday the 22nd and we are home. Lauren is doing well despite the tough time that she had. She really is tough...I'm serious. Chase is settling in well; learning how to fight for attention with his two high-maintenance sisters, two dopey dogs that act like two high-maintenance sisters and a panther-like black cat that could give a crap about everyone else. Chase's father and mother are humbly going about providing a happy life for all of the above.

Chase has reached his first great achievement. It's quite unbelievable. We've got him scheduled to join Arsenal's Youth-Gunner Football Academy (soccer) in London. So we've decided to give him this week to recover from a tough birth, then we will begin the preperation and training necessary to send him to the North London Football club at age 10! Its my understanding, that Arsenal's lengendary manager Arsene Wenger, has envisioned him in the team's 2024 midfield with David Beckham's boys - Romeo and Cruz. But I'm getting ahead of myself. I just want him to be happy. Elle and Emma are still a bit upset that I chose Arsenal's offer for Chase's services rather than the offer from Ballet West in Salt Lake to dance in their upcoming version of Thor, Hammer of the Gods ( its a love story...bleh).

We will continue to update as life goes on.
